Charles Henri Toussaint (French, 1849-1911) was a painter , illustrator and engraver . He is the father of the painter and illustrator Maurice Toussaint (1882-1974). Charles Henri Toussaint was a pupil of Léon Gaucherel , Brunet-Debaines, and C. Waltner. He pointed at the Paris Salon in 1874 and was rewarded in 1876, 1884, 1899 and 1900. He married Louise Bédelet, daughter of the publisher and Parisian bookseller Amadeus Bédelet . He is known for his many prints contained the architecture of Paris and provincial cities ( Amiens, Rouen, Reims,... ). He also wrote beautiful studies of Oxford , Cambridge and Liverpool in particula
