Engraving and etching, 1649 – 1651, signed in the lower image: 'Storer Inuenit / Jacobus Cotta Scalp”. After a J. C. Storer painitng.
Good example, printed on contemporary laid paper, irregurarly trimmed at margins, in good condition.
The print belongs to a series of 21 plates illustrating the volume entitled 'La Pompa della solenne entrata fatta da Maria Anna Austriaca' that recorded in detail the sumptuous entry of Maria Anna of Austria (1634–96), future Queen of Spain, to Milan in 1649.
The prints, executed by Giacomo Cotta, Johann Christophorus Storer, Girolamo Quadrio, and Giovanni Battista del Sole, reproduce the three triumphal arches and the paintings that decorated them.
The volume was published in 1651 in Milan by Giulio Cesare and Giovanni Battista Malatesta.
