Camillo DE VITO Attivo a Napoli fra il 1794 e il 1845
Camillo de Vito, a reknown painter of guaches depicting views and scenes from everyday life. He withdrew views of the Neapolitan territory and evocative nocturnal eruptions of Vesuvius, like Night Island Ferdinandea (1831) or Eruption of Vesuvius of 19 December 1820 (Naples, Museo di San Martino), after the illustrations of a contemporary book: Descrizione dell'isola Ferdinandea. In 1845 is still remembered by sources as "the painter of views of Naples."
