Description

View of a part of the city harbour with the lighthouse, edited in Paris in the second half of the XVIII century. Possibly a french Vue d'optique.

This kind of print was meant to be viewed near a light source, in order to be able to see its mirror image. For this reason the text was often a mirror image in the original print.

Copperplate, original hand colour.
