Beautiful view from the series published under the title "L'Italie, collection des sites les most renommés et des monuments les most remarquables de ce pays" printed in Paris and published by Jeannin, Place du Louvre 20, undated but circa 1840.
The works are drawn and lithographed by Isidor Laurent Deroy for the Parisian publisher Jeannin.
Isidor Laurent Deroy (Paris 1797-1886), French painter and lithographer, son of Jacques Deroy and Aimee Madeleine Pertuisot, was a pupil of the architect Felix and the painter Cassas. He primarily reproduced French landscapes and animals; some of his work was collected in the galleries of the Duchess of Berry and the Duke of Orleans. In 1860, he, together with the Becquet brothers, created the series "France in Miniature". A tireless lithographer, he reproduced various subjects for the Musée de l’Amateur and published countless views. His sons, the painter Emile and the illustrator Auguste Victor, were his students.
Lithograph, in excellent condition.
