Filippo Giuntotardi was a skilled engraver and etcher, he specialized in landscapes. His style was influenced by two German painters: J. A. Koch and K. F. Shinkel. With Antonio Testa he made 20 beautiful views of Tivoli and its surroundings, which were published in 1825 as the first part of an iconographic and editorial program that included two volumes of views: one dedicated to Tivoli and its surroundings, the other to Rome (Raccolta delle Vedute Pittoresche di Roma e de' suoi Contorni...illustrate da A. Nibby, Roma - 1825). In addition, Giuntotardi collaborated to the illustrations of Dodwell for his work Classical and Topographical Tour through Greece (London, 1819).
