Description
Rare map drawn by Luigi De Salvatori for the publisher Antonio Zezon.
The map is published in Atlante Corografico della Sicilia corredato di alcune notizie statistiche, Napoli Nella Litografia Zezon [s. d. 1832.
This is a small atlas set up by the Neapolitan publisher Antonio Zezon (1803-1881). The layout, content and size are the same as the similar collection of maps relating to the kingdom of Naples, published by Antonio Zezon around 1831-32 and later included in his Storia del Regno di Napoli dalla fondazione della Monarchia infino al 19° secolo, published in Naples in 1838. The author of the maps is Officio Topografico draftsman Luigi De Salvatori (1807-post 1867), who signed almost all the maps of the Kingdom of Naples and the two maps of the Valle Minore di Siracusa and Valle Minore di Trapani. Around 1830 De Salvatori was working in the Officio Topografico where he had entered as a proprietary pupil on November 21, 1823. In 1827 he had worked on the drawing of the plan of the districts of Naples, delicate work attributed to the best draftsmen in the Officio.
Lithograph, with outline coloring, in excellent condition.
