Le carte dell'Italia dell'erudito tedesco Philippo Cluverius furono per la prima volta pubblicate nel 1624 nel celebre "Italia Antiqua".
Successivamente alla morte dell'autore le carte furono ristampate, in forma ridotta, da Hondius e a Parigi da Bunon nel 1659, incise da Henry le Roy.
L'edizione parigina risulta più rara dell'originale.
Acquaforte, finemente colorata a mano nei contorni, in ottimo sttao di conservazione.

Cluver was born in in Danzig and after studying in Leyden and Oxford, he took interest in historical geography; his subsequent publications made a wide and influential contribution to the knowledge of the subject .
