Description
UNKNOWN SECOND STATE
The plan may have been separately published by Zenoi and it is also found in some copies of Ferrando Bertelli’s “Civitatum aliquot insignorum et locorum magis monitorum exacta delineation cum additione aliquot Insularum principalium. Disegni di alcune più illustri città et fortezze del mondo con aggionta di alcune Isole principali”, of 1568 as well as in the second edition of 1574 by Donato Bertelli.
This example is without the signature of Zenoi in the cartouche, where the title is now "Clissa fortezza principal del turcho posta nella dalmatia longi da Spalato miglia cinque recuperata da Venetiani L 1650".
So the plate was issue to celebrate the battle of 1650. This edition was printed by Stefano Scolari.
