It includes the area of present day Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Limited details include major cities, rivers and some topographical information.
It includes the Andaman Islands and Taiwan (Insel Hainan), and part of the mouth of the Ganges.

Geographer, cartographer and scottish explorer.
After moving to London in 1752, he was sent as an apprentice to the East India Company in Madras. Returning to the British Capital in 1765, he became a member of the Royal Society. In 1767 he published the results of his travels in the book Account of the discoveries made in The South Pacific Ocean, with which he theorized the existence of a vast unexplored continent in the South Pacific Ocean, Terra Australis Incognita.
