Panorama of Rome from the Janiculum drawn by Alphonse Rouargue for Mary-Lafon's work, Rome ancienne et moderne depuis sa fondation jusqùa nos jours, printed in Paris in 1852 by the publisher Fourne.
Jean Bernard Mary-Lafon (1810-1884) French scholar, historian, linguist and playwright, part of whose work is devoted to Occitan and Occitan literature. For his work on Rome, he used illustrations engraved by the most talented French artists of the period.
Etching, usual vertical folds, otherwise in very good condition.
