Birds-eye view print shows plan of the cities of Alessandria and Borgo on either side of the Tanaro River under siege by French troops from July 17, 1657. Forces under command of the Charles II Duke of Mantua and Alfonso Pérez de Vivero, Count of Fuensaldaña recaptured the city on August 19 of the same year. Print shows locations of roads, the Bormida River and troop encampments. Details labeled A-O are identified in print and explained in key in 3 boxes in lower left corner of the print.
