Palazzo Torlonia in Borgo

View from   “Roma nell’anno MDCCCXXXVIII descritta da Antonio Nibby…”, Rome, Tipografia delle Belle Arti, in four volumes (1838-41) -  the first two dedicated to the topographical and archaeological study of ancient Rome, the others to modern Rome. The work in the general lines, even with the subsequent progress and archaeological discoveries, can be considered the best that has been written about Rome in the first half of the nineteenth century.
