View of Piazza della Rotonda with the Church of Santa Maria dei Martiri, as it appeared in 1824, before the modifications that led to the removal of the two bell towers (1870) to restore the ancient Pantheon of Agrippa (27 BC).
Table taken from the famous Chiese principali d'Europa, published in Milan by Artaria in 1824, and subsequently reprinted in 1829 by Tipografia Destefanis.
Ladislao Rupp was an architect, draughtsman, architectural engraver and mosaicist; he was a pupil of Giacomo Raffaelli and spent most of his life in Milan.
Finely hand-coloured aquatint, in excellent condition.
