Christ in limbo; after Dürer (Meder 16); standing in an archway, holding the flag of the Resurrection and bending forward to reach out to one of the figures in hell in foreground; next to him in the archway Adam and Eve; a devilish monster on the arch at right, another holding a large key at lower left; from a series of fifteen etchings after Dürer's Small Passion.
Etching on iron, from the Passion of Christ. Signed with monogram on a tablet at lower right.
Examples in the very rare first state of two, before the Funk edition, with the number of the plate.
